Q: Is WBON a national organization?

No, but we do have an affiliate in Cary.

Q: If we join one group (Wake County), do we also have to join the other group (Cary)?

No. You don't have to join both groups. But if you want to be part of the Cary WBON, you need to join it separately, because while we are affiliated, we are completely separate organizations.

Q: If I join the Wake County WBON in the middle of the year, do I pay full price for dues?

No. Dues are prorated. If you join Jan-Jun: $30. July-Dec: $15. Dues renew in January.

Q: Is there professional exclusivity?

No, we welcome multiple professionals within the same industry.

Q: Do I have to have been in business a number of years in order to join?

No. We welcome start ups to those who have owned their business for a long time.

Q: Do I have to attend a set number of meetings?

There is no requirement that you attend a set number of meetings but we encourage you to attend as many as possible so you can develop your network and utilize the great information provided by our speakers as well as peer feedback to help grow your business.

Q: I'm thinking about starting a business. Can you give me some ideas of where to start?

A good place to start is with Wake Tech Community College. They have a small business center that provides free small business consulting and a variety of workshops on starting and running a business. Another good resource is the Small Business Technology and Development Center (SBTDC) - www.sbtdc.org.
